Microsoft has announced it is to issue special edition versions of the Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 — apparently the No. 1 best-selling notebook mouse in the US — in five new colours.

The special editions of the Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 will be offered in pomegranate (red), dragon fruit (dark pink) aloe (green), milk chocolate (a Zune-like brown) and creme brulee (khaki).

The mouse offers high definition optical technology with Microsoft's intelligent tracking system for smoother tracking, 1000 dots per inch for more responsiveness and 6000 frames per second for better precision.

The compact shape and ambidextrous form includes sculpted finger grooves and rubber side grips, and it claims to deliver more than 6 months of battery life with one AA battery.

The special edition colours of the Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 will be available in May at Best Buy stores for $29.95 with no news on a UK launch.
