Samsung launched its new smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S3, in Berlin this evening at its annual pre-IFA press event.

What was launched at the Samsung IFA 2016 event?
Considering Samsung chose the same venue it used to launch the Gear 2 in 2015, it was always likely to announce its follow-up as the star of tonight's shenanigans.
And that's what it did. Two models of the Samsung Galaxy S3 were unveiled during the event: the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and Samsung Gear S3 Classic.

What time did the Samsung Gear S3 launch start?
The event started at 6pm in Berlin, so 5pm in the UK, midday on the East Coast of America, 9am on the West Coast.

What is the Samsung Gear S3 like?
The Samsung Gear S3 is the latest version of Samsung's Tizen-based smartwatch. It retains the rotating bezel that made its debut on the Gear 2, but carries more sensors and comes in two distinct design flavours.
