Survey says people with kids are more internet savvy

A survey of 7000 people across Europe has found that adults who live with children are more engaged with the Internet than those who don't have families.

The report by the European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA) has discovered that people living with children are 40% more likely to use the internet every week compared to those who do not live with children.

The survey found that people living with very young children (0-4 years) tend to visit health and film websites, while those with slightly older children (5-9-years-old), tend to be visiting game websites.

The survey also found that price comparison sites are experiencing a surge in visits from people with children aged 10 to 15 years, while respondents with older children (16-18-years-old) prefer to visit TV websites.

The study involved 7008 random telephone interviews with over 1000 respondents in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Nordic countries respectively and 500 respondents in Belgium and the Netherlands respectively.

Interviews were conducted throughout September 2007.
