One of the world's electronics giants is facing allegations of corruption.

South Korea's Samsung Group has been accused of operating a 200bn won (£108m) "slush" fund to bribe prosecutors, judges and civil servants.

The investigation started at the beginnning of the year following allegations made by a former Samsung lawyer, Kim Yong-Chul.

In the dock before prosecutors today was Lee Kun-hee, chairman of the company.

He, and his company, continue to deny the accusations.

Prosecutors are due to wrap up the probe by 23 April, and their findings are expected to be published before the end of the month.

Samsung currently has a global workforce of 754,000, and enjoys annual profits of more than $14bn.
