Sky has announced that later this year, customers who subscribe to Sky's top packages and have a broadband internet connection will be able to download Sky Movies and Sky Sports content on-demand on their PC as part of their existing subscription.

A selection of around 200 movies will be available at launch, including a mix of new films and library titles, increasing over time.

Content available from Sky Sports via broadband will include match highlights, interviews, programme clips and Sky Sports News bulletins.

Both services will be available to customers who subscribe to Sky World, the Sky Sports service will be available to Sports World customers and Sky Movies to Movie World customers.

Sky has yet to confirm whether or not users will then be able to transfer the footage to a portable device, however it did say “Plans for an entertainment-based mobile product are in development.”
