Apple has not only announced a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro but it's also introduced a new way to charge the iPad Pro faster. Plus there's now a way to siphon power from a 12-inch MacBook to charge up an iPad or iPhone on the move.

The new 29W USB-C power adapter for iPad is available now and will allow you to fast charge the tablet quicker than current offerings. The current adapters are limited to either 10W or 12W making them far slower.

The issue with larger tablets, like the iPad Pro, is that the big screen needs a sizeable battery which takes time to fill. The release of this faster charger was likely the result of an outcry from iPad Pro customers that were sick of waiting for the battery to get back up to full charge.

Alternatively, or supplementary, there's an option to buy a Lightning to USB-C cable. This will allow iPad and iPhone owners to charge their tablets and phones directly from a 12-inch MacBook on the go, something the one-port wonder couldn't afford users until now.

The 29W USB-C adapter costs $49 while the 3-foot Lightning to USB-C cable is $25 and the 6-foot variant goes for $35.
