With CES 2016 now done and dusted, MWC 2016 is next on our radar, and LG seems to be among the first out of the gate to issue an event invite.

The company has just invited journalists to attend the unveiling of its next flagship smartphone. LG sent out the usual "Save The Date" notice, along with an image of a green music box and a "Play Begins" teaser. Curiouser and curiouser. LG's event is scheduled for 21 February in Barcelona.

Here is what we know so far: LG's next flagship will likely be the successor to the popular LG G4. So, expect to see the LG G5 unveiled in February. The upcoming phone is rumoured to feature a 5.3-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.

As for the "Play Begins" stuff, your guess is as good as ours. We'll know for sure next month, but in the meantime, stay tuned to our MWC 2016 hub for all the latest news coming from the annual Mobile World Conference.
