Some spectators had suggested that CES 2016 was going to be all about VR. Well, Oculus Rift might have just stolen the show, teasing that the pre-order date is much sooner than you might think.
In a simple blog post, Oculus has confirmed that pre-orders for Rift will open on 6 January, at 8am PT (4pm GMT).
The company has also confirmed that Rift comes with Lucky's Tale and Eve: Valkyrie if you pre-order the new VR system.
Oculus Rift has been in development alongside a number of different VR systems over the past years and it seems that everything is going to come to fruition in 2016.
However, the hardware is only part of the story. There's been plenty of talk about the minimum hardware requirements you'll need for the PC you might want to hook up to, with Nvidia confirming that it's opening a VR-Ready programme to make sure hardware that meets the specifications for VR can be easily recognised by those wanting to jump into the experience.
Oculus says that everything will be revealed on Wednesday 6 January when pre-orders open. Colour us excited, 2016 is getting off to a virtual bang.
