Misfit has announced that it will be expanding its activity tracking offerings beyond the wrist to your ears with its new Specter.

Despite the Bond villainous sounding name the Specter earphones are out to make your life better, day and night, with activity and sleep tracking. Although who will wear these to bed is unclear. It would look suitably evil for a cyborg Bond villain perhaps.

Specter features dual drivers for what Misfit says is "clean, rich sound quality". There's also an accelerometer to take care of the activity and sleep tracking. The clip design allows for it to remain secure regardless of the situation.

You can also expect the Misfit Link software to work with the headset. That allows the wearer to use the headset as a one-touch button for controlling other things like smart lights, a phone's camera, music playing and more.

The Misfit Specter will be available early in 2016 although release date and pricing have not been announced at this stage. Misfit is well known for being design led. Since these earphones don't follow the look of the other kit as well as they could we suspect these may take a while to come to market and may even appear in another form.
