Pentax launch OptioS5z digital camera

New 5 megapixel from Pentax

Pentax has released the OptioS5z, the latest digital camera in its OptioS range. Launching this month, Pentax is hoping the £249.99 will be appealing to holiday makers everywhere.

The new model will feature a 3x optical zoom and 5.0 megapixels. It will weigh just over 100 grams and measure 83 (W) x 55 (H) x 21.5 (D)mm. The camera still manages to include a 2.5-inch LCD monitor on the rear of the camera even with the small dimensions.

The OptioS5z will also offer a movie shooting mode with 640 x 480 recording pixels at a rate of 30fps and offer basic editing tasks in- camera such as "Save as still image," "Divide" and "Cut and stitch".

Other features include a rather poor 9.3Mb of internal memory, A text mode for shooting printed materials, Super macro mode allows the user to shoot as close as 6cm from the subject and PictBridge compatibility
