Sanyo has launched the Xacti CG9 in the Far East and the States, describing it as an "exceptionally easy-to-use and affordable" offering.

A MPEG4 digital camcorder with 9.1 megapixel still image capability, the CG9 features an advanced CMOS image sensor for capturing video and stills, records to MPEG4 AVC/H.264 video codec on SD or SDHC cards up to 32GB.

With a pocket-sized design and ergonomic shape, the CG9 is designed to easily upload high quality video and high resolution still photos to the web in formats optimised for instantly sharing on social networking sites like YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and others.

The SANYO Xacti CG9 will be available in the US starting in mid-April 2008. Available in Silver or Black, the CG9 has an price tag $279.99. No word just yet on a UK launch.
