French company Archos just unveiled its Diamond S smartphone earlier this week, but now it is coming out with another Diamond-branded product. It's called Diamond Tab.

The Diamond Tab is a tablet, of course, and it features a 7.9-inch display. Archos specialises in making affordable devices, so the Diamond Tab will be made available in October 2015 for the relatively affordable price of £179.

The Diamond Tab will be powered by a Mediatek MT8752 Octa-Core 1.7 GHz processor. And that's backed by 3GB of RAM. The upcoming slate also has 32GB of internal space, 4G/LTE connectivity, and support for dual-band Wi-Fi.

Going back to that display for a moment, it's a 7.9-inch IPS screen with a 2048 x 1536-pixel resolution. Other specs include a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. And all of this hardware has been paired with Android 5.1 Lollipop software as well as access to the Google Play store.

Stay tuned to Pocket-lint's Archos hub for more news on this device and Archos, as the company plans to be showing off its latest product announcements at the annual IFA trade show in Berlin.
