The San Diego Comic-Con might be over for another year but it left us looking forward to some incredible movies and TV shows that are coming up over the next few years.

During the convention we were treated to a whole host of genre TV and movie trailers, plus the unveiling of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So, without further ado, here's a big stack of official Comic-Con 2012 trailers and announcements. Enjoy.

MCU Phase 5

Marvel Studios' Comic-Con panel was the hottest ticket in town, with a flood of announcements and a few new trailers (which you can see below).

Perhaps the biggest announcement was the collection of movies and TV shows that will make up Phase 5 of the MCU. Although not a trailer, a timeline of the forthcoming films and series was displayed in large.

It will kick off with another Ant Man sequel - Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - and include Guardians of the Galaxy 3, a new Blade movie, Daredevil: Born Again, and a new Captain America film. Here are the films and shows listed, plus their prospective release dates:

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - 17 February 2023
  • Secret Invasion - 2023
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - 6 May 2023
  • Echo - summer 2023
  • Loki season 2 - summer 2023
  • The Marvels - 28 July 2023
  • Blade - 3 November 2023
  • Ironheart - fall 2023
  • Agatha Coven of Chaos - winter 2023/24
  • Daredevil: Born Again - spring 2024
  • Captain America: New World Order - 3 May 2024
  • Thunderbolts - 26 July 2024

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Marvel finally released a teaser trailer for the next Black Panther movie, which you can see above. It will be the last film in the MCU Phase 4 and releases later this year, on 11 November.

Fantastic Four

Although we don't know much about it yet, Marvel Studios has announced a new Fantastic Four film is coming. It will also be a reboot, with the family being "introduced" to the MCU.

It's currently scheduled to hit cinemas on 8 November 2024 and could kick off Phase 6.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty / Avengers: Secret Wars

Two new Avengers movies are underway, which are likely to kick off Phase 6.

The Kang Dynasty is planned for a 2 May 2025 cinematic release, while Secret Wars will hit screens on 7 November the same year.

I Am Groot

I Am Groot is a series of five Animated shorts featuring everyone's favourite Guardian of the Galaxy.

It starts on 10 August.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Another Marvel TV show to hit Disney+ soon is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It'll premiere on 17 August.

Here's the latest trailer, as unveiled at SDCC. Oh, and look out for a surprise guest at the end.

John Wick 4

Keannu Reeves himself surprised the crowds at Comic-Con by unveiling the first trailer of John Wick 4. Excited? You betcha.

Black Adam

Not to be completely outdone by Marvel, Warner revealed a new sneak peek of its DC Comics adaptation Black Adam, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

It hits cinemas on 21 October.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods

We also got a proper trailer for Shazam: Fury of the Gods, the sequel to one of the better DC movies out there.

The Shazam family face a new powerful threat but it's good to see it hasn't lost its tongue-in-cheek humour in the process.

The Sandman

We don't have long for this TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's comic book series to hit the small screen.

The Sandman will premiere on Netflix on 5 August.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Easily one of the most eagerly anticipated TV series coming this year will hit Amazon's Prime Video service on 2 September.

This is the latest trailer. You can also catch up with the latest on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in our handy feature.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

It's been a fair while since an official Dungeons & Dragons movie and even longer since we've had a good one (if ever).

Paramount Pictures is pinning a lot of hope on Honor Among Thieves, with Chris Pine starring and a very decent effects budget. Expect it to appear around March time next year.

House of the Dragon

HBO unveiled an extended trailer for the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, during Comic-Con.

It will also be shown in 4K HDR on HBO Max when it premieres on 21 August.

Teen Wolf: The Movie

A sequel to the MTV TV series rather than the original 80s comedies Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf 2 (starring Michael J Fox and Jason Bateman respectively), this movie is more supernatural horror than slapstick.

It will be added to Paramount+ in October this year.

The rest

There were plenty more announcements during Comic-Con this year, although not all of them came with trailers or imagery. For example, while a Star Trek: Picard season 3 trailer was shown at the event itself, it is yet to be officially released online.

We'll update when we find more trailers we think you'll enjoy.
