Vodafone has announced it will be offering Samsung's iPhone rival, the F490, in the UK.

The new handset, that offers a 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen with a 240 x 432 pixel 16:9 display, will be from free dependent on contract.

A tri-band HSDPA/EDGE-enabled handset, with Bluetooth connectivity, the F490 is just 11.8mm thick, (0.2mm thicker than an iPhone) and boasts a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

Featuring Samsung's Croix user interface, the device also offers haptic feedback from touching the screen as found in the company's F700 model, also available on Vodafone.

Other features include a standard 3.5mm audio jack, support for compatible microSD cards and 130MB internal memory.
