Asus has announced several additions to its ZenPad series at Computex 2015 in Taiwan, including the hero ZenPad S 8.0, along with the 8-inch ZenPad 8.0, 7-inch ZenPad 7.0 and 10-inch ZenPad 10.1.

The ZenPad S 8.0 features an 8-inch LED display with a 1536 x 2048 resolution for a pixel density of 320ppi and it features a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 32GB of internal storage and microSD support for storage expansion up to 128GB.

There are two front-facing speakers with DTS HD Premium Sound, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and the ZenPad S 8.0 is claimed to offer an 8-hour battery life. The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 measures 203.2 x 134.5 x 6.9 mm, weighs 317g and comes in black and white metallic finished options with an optional Z Stylus.

The Z Stylus is said to offer 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, so is likely to be popular for both writing and illustrating.

The brother of the ZenPad S 8.0, the ZenPad 8.0 doesn't wow with its specs, but it is claimed to the first tablet with interchangeable covers, with five colours to choose from comprising black, white, aurora metallic, blue and orange.

The ZenPad 8.0 has a leather patterned rear, a polished metallic frame and rounded corners and it measures 209 x 123 x 8.5mm, with a weight of 350g so slightly heavier and thicker than the ZenPad S 8.0. The 8-inch LED display has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution for a pixel density of 101ppi.

Under the hood you will find a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor, up to 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD slot for up to 64GB memory expansion. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and but just one front speaker with DTS HD Premium Sound on the ZenPad 8.0.

There are several cases available for the ZenPad 8.0 including the Zen Case that brings five colour options to the ZenPad 8.0. There is also a Zen Clutch that has been designed as a fashionable carrying solution that also acts as a stand, available in black and white, and the Asus Power Case that extends the 9-hour battery life by 15 hours.

Additionally, Asus has introduced an Audio Cover for the ZenPad 8.0 that boosts the front speaker by five times and delivers up to 6 hours of 5.1-channel surround sound. Last but not least, there is the Tri Cover that is similar to Apple's Smart Case, folding to create a stand, and this is also available for the ZenPad S 8.0.

Asus also announced a 7-inch variant and a 10-inch variant of the ZenPad 8.0, with the latter featuring an optional keyboard. No pricing or availability has been announced as yet.
