Techno-pioneers Daft Punk have announced their first-ever high-def release "Electroma" will hit Blu-ray in the States this summer.

The story of the journey of two robots on a quest to become human, the geek cult hit has been "specifically mastered for optimal visual and audio fidelity on Blu-ray".

Even more excitement for fans - there are also plans to package "Electroma" as a special edition in a collectible metal case with a 40-page booklet.

Pricing and exact availability, including that outside America, is yet to be confirmed.
