Boston Acoustics has turned its "serious" hi-hi sights on the 'umble iPod with the launch of the Duo-i stereo iPod dock system.

The Duo-i uses two Boston 3.5 inch drive units in ported individual enclosures, plus BassTrac that gives you variable bass boost for full sound at low volumes to deliver what Boston claims is clean sound at all levels.

Described as "very high-quality", the dock has a heavy, yet soft touch cabinet, moulded rubber controls, soft blue backlighting and perforated metal front grilles.

It plays and charges all iPods except shuffles, including the iPhone, and has aux ins for other players.

There's full clock-radio facilities with an AM and FM tuner, full dual alarm with radio and buzzer options, a large snooze ring, as well as lighting that automatically dims as the room does.

Complete with remote control, the Duo-i is £170, available now. Optional grilles in red, blue, pink and green are available for £15.
