11 March 2008 14:11 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott
SanDisk has finally officially unveiled the new Sansa Fuze MP3 player after retailer leaks let the world know it was on its way.
It will be available in early April in the States, in a wide array of colours (pink, red, blue, black and silver) although with capacities only hitting 2, 4 and 8GB, with a retail price of from $79.99.
The Fuze will offer the ability to play music, video, photos, FM radio and audiobooks, and work as a voice recorder.
The player has a 1.9-inch screen and a microSD card slot beef up those average capacities.
Compatible with subscription download services from Rhapsody To Go, Napster, eMusic and others, the Fuze supports MP3, WAV, Audible (for audio books) and Windows Media Audio (WMA) in both unprotected and protected files as well as MPEG4 video and JPEG.
Its internal rechargeable battery claims play time for up to 24 hours of audio and 5 hours of video between charges.
The player is expected to be available from retailers in Canada and Europe in late spring, with other regions of the world to follow.
