Not to be outdone by Asus' touchscreen Chromebook Flip, Acer has introduced a new Chrome OS device with a touch display.

Acer offers several Chrome OS devices, such as a Chromebox, Chromebooks, and the Chromebase series, the latter of which has a new touch-enabled configuration in the form of an all-in-one Chrome OS desktop with a touchscreen.

The new Chromebase is the first to have a 21.5-inch 1080P Full HD resolution display with 10-point touch technology and a 178-degree viewing angle. The device will boot up in 10 seconds and features multiple layers of built-in security with automatic system updates. It also comes with 100GB of Google Drive storage.

Other features include the Nvidia Tegra K1 quad-core processor, an HD webcam, support 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity, 3W audio speakers, HDMI out, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0.

There's no pricing info yet, but we've contacted Acer to learn more. If this machine interests you, Acer will start selling it in North American and Asia Pacific markets sometime during the second quarter.
