iPhone 2.0 to be child- as well as business-friendly

Parental controls coming in June

As part of Apple's announcements today regarding the iPhone, it was revealed that the mobile device will soon get parental controls.

At a press event at an Apple "Town Hall" meeting in the States, the company revealed forthcoming software, iPhone 2.0, and its wide-encompassing features.

In a bid to make the iPhone more appealing to the business world, Apple announced enterprise-friendly solutions for the phone, including full push email, but are also aiming at the opposite end of the market by making the device child-friendly too.

As part of the Q&A session after the presentation, Steve Jobs revealed that when the 2.0 software is available for the phone - in June - parents will be able to turn off features in the iPhone like Safari or the App Store.
