The official word on the next Call of Duty 2015 is here, Activision has confirmed the next game in the series will be here this autumn.

The next Call of Duty will be made by veteran COD maker Treyarch. The company was the genius behind Call of Duty's zombie mode as well as Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Black Ops are probably the most famous Treyarch titles and they also, according to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, "remain the biggest selling titles in franchise history."

This game isn't going to be a stand alone title but rather will be the first on a three-year development cycle that Treyarch has committed to. At the moment not much is being given away but Hirshberg has said this title "will be loaded with innovation". More details will be shared with the COD community soon. Presumably this is referring to social media sharing as well as updates within the gaming dedicated sites.

The reason Call of Duty is moving to a three-year cycle is that Sledgehammer Games will now be included after its success in creating Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
