Dell has taken the wraps off the latest additions to its XPS family of devices: the XPS 13 and 15.

We got some hands-on time with the XPS 13, a laptop described by Dell as the "smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet", and immediately fell in love with its "virtually borderless infinity display." It's an optional UltraSharp Quad+ infinity display with 5.7 million pixels and just 5.2mm bezels. From what we could tell in person, the nearly full-bleed screen shines brilliantly in low-light conditions and looks both vivid and precise.

Apart from a fancy display, the XPS 13 weighs only 2.6 pounds and supposedly features a 15-hour battery life, as well as fifth-generation Intel Core processors and solid state drives. But the best part is: you can get all of that at a starting price of $799.99 beginning on 6 January. The XPS 13 will be available for purchase at in the US. We're trying to find out UK availability too.

Alongside the new XPS 13, Dell has announced a new XPS 15 with a 4K Ultra HD display. The company said the screen boasts more than 8 million pixels. We didn't have a chance to see the updated laptop in person, but we're hoping to get hands-on time whenever it launches. Dell said pricing will start at $2,349 in the US and that the laptop would go on sale "soon".
