Sennheiser is to launch a pair of headphones originally designed for airline pilots so the likes of you and me can reduce the noise of airplanes and other methods of travelling.

The £130 Sennheiser PXC 300 NoiseGard headphones promise to dramatically reduce the audible impact of noise and thus the fatigue of travel, on airliners, trains, buses, or anywhere that substantial environmental noise is unavoidable.

According to Sennheiser the 65gram in weight NoiseGuards will reduce the overall approximate noise by up to 80 per cent.

The folding headphones also incorporate new super-soft leatherette ear cushions that supposedly increase passive (higher-frequency) noise reduction while also enhancing comfort.

The set promises to last 80 hours battery life from two AA batteries.
