Oh hey, 4K lovers. You now have a new avenue for getting super-crisp videos: Vimeo.

Starting today, anyone can download 4K video files from Vimeo and watch them. Vimeo has announced that creators, which includes Vimeo Pro members and Vimeo On Demand sellers, can finally allow people to download their 4K videos.

In order to watch ultra high-definition content, you'll need a 4K-compatible display such as the latest iMac and its Retina 5K display. Although Vimeo creators have been able to upload in 4K for a while, people haven't been able to download those files until now.

A couple of Vimeo On Demand titles already available in 4K include Video Game High School and A Film About Coffee. Keep in mind Vimeo On Demand is meant to help creators sell films and episodic series and that Vimeo doesn't offer 4K-streaming just yet.

Vimeo said it will be able to offer 4K-streaming when broadband providers start supporting the "high speeds" required. If you so desire, check out Vimeo's blog post to see the trailers for Video Game High School and A Film About Coffee.
