LG launches world's first 10,000:1 monitor

And it's now available in the UK

The L197WH from LG is claimed to be the first monitor in the UK to have a 10,000:1 Digital Fine Contrast ratio (DFC).

In fact, says LG, this is the "greatest clarity available on a PC monitor today".

The 19-inch widescreen monitor is powered by LG's picture enhancing chipset, the F-Engine.

When set to Movie Mode, a pre-configured setting of the F-Engine, the contrast ratio is automatically increased to 10,000:1.

"Ghosting, blurring and tearing are virtually removed as a result of the monitor's 2m/s grey-to-grey response time. In addition, the L197WH includes a dual hinge, height adjustment and a tilt design", adds LG.

There's no price as yet but we'll keep you posted.
