Intel has a new wearable that sort of looks like Will.i.am's Puls but targeted toward women.

The wearable is called MICA, and that stands for My Intelligent Communication Accessory. The whole thing was designed by Opening Ceremony and engineered by Intel, and the idea behind MICA is that "fashion-forward women" will use it to send text messages, view social notifications, and get recommendations from Yelp and TomTom.

Pocket-lint was one of a handful to get our hands on the smart cuff in September at the Intel Developer Forum 2014. Our first impressions were that MICA is big; a bracelet that, in our eyes, looks like it's from the set of Game of Thrones rather than an everyday wearable device. It measures 75 x 61.4mm around, is 30.8mm across and is 7.7mm thick.

Described as an "intelligent bracelet composed of precious gems and Ayers snakeskin" as well as a "feminine communications accessory", MICA is being marketed as a smart and fashionable luxury accessory for women. It features a curved touchscreen sapphire display, premium finishes and 18K gold coating, and more.

Other highlights include up to two days of battery life, micro-USB charging,vibration-based alerts, a curated VIP contact list, and customisable quick replies. It will also include two years of AT&T wireless data connectivity.

Intel MICA will cost $495 when it launches in December exclusively in the US. You'll be able to buy it online at Opening Ceremony's website and select Barneys New York locations.
