Apple has announced an update to the Mac mini, its most accessible desktop computer. It now starts at $499/£399.

Sticking to the same design, the new Mac mini now has fourth-generation Intel Core processors, with Intel Isis and HD Graphics 5000, and PCIe-based flash storage.

You can opt for 1.4, 2.6 or 2.8GHz dual-core i5 processors, options upto 1TB SSD storage, and up to 16GB of RAM.

It's better connected with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

The best part of the news is that the new Mac mini is going on sale today.

At the other end of the scale, Apple also announced a new iMac, with an incredibly detailed 5K display, yours for $2499.
