It might seem a little early for santa chat given its only October, but John Lewis has now opened its Christmas shop meaning just one thing – the festive season is coming whether you like it or not.
Yes, you still have a couple of months but if you're already thinking about your list, here are a few of the best gadgets to consider putting on it. We will update this feature regularly so keep checking back to make sure the space under your tree is full of the most exciting bows and boxes around.
LEGO Builder Case for iPad mini
If you don't already have an Apple iPad mini then it's worth adding that to your Christmas list just so you can also ask for this very cool LEGO Builder Case.
It isn't the cheapest iPad mini case you'll find, but LEGO blocks can be built on top of it so if you were feeling really festive, you could try building a LEGO nativity. Or maybe just settle for a Christmas tree.
PRICE: £44.95 from John Lewis.
GoPro recently announced a flurry of new action cameras, one of which included an option for those that want to capture the action but don't have a spare £300 for one of the top-of-the-range models.
The GoPro Hero sits above the Hero 3 range, but below the new Hero4 options and it can capture video at 1080p30 and 720p60, plus 5-megapixel photos at up to 5 frames per second so you'll be able to capture all the Christmas sledging action, which could make for interesting footage if there is no snow.
Juice All Nighter
If you struggle to get your phone to last till the end of the day before the low battery warning hits you, then it might be worth putting an external battery pack on your Christmas wish list.
There are plenty to choose from but the Juice All Nighter has a 4000mAh capacity, LED lights to show you how much charge it has left and you'll be able to give some extra life to your iPhone, iPod, iPad or micro USB compatible devices.
PRICE: £TBC from John Lewis.
Motorola Moto X
There have been some brilliant phones launch this year, with many deserving a place on Christmas lists but the Motorola Moto X offers you the ability to customise it, so even if you know you're getting it from spotting the phone-shaped box under the tree, you could still be surprised.
Best to ask someone who knows you well to buy this present for you though as you can choose everything from the back colour, front colour and trim colour to the memory and engraving.
PRICE: From £419.99 at Motorola.
Sage by Heston Blumenthal Boss blender
The Sage Boss blender should be on your list just for its name, but if that isn't enough to convince you then it comes with a three horse power motor, back-lit LCD display and a variable 12 speed control.
It carries Heston Blumenthal's name but thankfully that doesn't mean you need to blend Christmas pudding and stuffing together. You could try one of the pre-set functions though, so turkey soup should be nice and simple with the "Soup" setting.
PRICE: £499.95 from John Lewis.
Ted Baker Rockall headphones
There are plenty of headphones out there to choose from and it will depend what you are looking for as to which ones you end up adding to your list, but the Ted Baker Rockall over-ear headphones look and sound good.
Finished in stainless steel and soft leather, the Rockall headphones come in three colour options and are a great way to block out The Pogues if you've had enough of being called a scumbag or maggot this year.
Google Chromecast is a small dongle that plugs into a spare HDMI port in the back of your TV and subsequently enables you to cast your smartphone or tablet screen onto your TV.
In a nutshell, it makes your TV smart so you'll not only be able to watch your favourite Christmas movies from Netflix on your big screen, but you'll also be able to view YouTube videos, show the family what you are looking at on your browser screen and catch up on the Eastenders Christmas special.
PRICE: £30 from Google.
Sony CyberShot RX100 III
Like smartphones, there have been some great cameras launched this year and it will depend on what you are after and what your budget is as to which one will make it to your final list.
The Sony CyberShot RX100 III has been around since the summer but it is small, pocketable and delivers excellent image quality so it is a safe bet if a compact camera is what you are after.
PRICE: £699 from Amazon.
