Tesco is planning a follow-up to its own-brand tablet, the Hudl. The Hudl 2 should be launched at an event planned for 3 October.
Invites have been sent out by Tesco to an event with "#Letshudl" on the front. Not too much debate about what it's going to be for then. Especially considering Tesco's chief exec recently said it was on its way as an "enhanced version" of the original. The Tesco homepage also has a section where you can now register for updates on the Hudl 2.
Tesco sold more than 35,000 Hudl tablets in just a few days after launch. It was now sold over 300,000 units, more than originally planned for the whole of 2013.
The current Tesco Hudl tablet costs £119 and sports a 7-inch screen with a 1440 x 900 resolution (242ppi). It runs on a 1.5GHz A9 quad-core processor, has 1GB of RAM and uses a Mali 400 quad-core graphics processing unit.
Here's hoping the "enhanced" Hudl 2 still manages to offer a low price despite having better specs.
Judging from the multi-coloured banner on the Tesco site the Hudl 2 will likely come in a variety of colours.
