Ricoh has introduced a new outdoor camera to its rugged, waterproof, and shock-resistant WG series. It's called WG-M1.
Featuring a wide-angle lens and a CMOS image sensor, the WG-M1 lets you capture a range of both underwater and outdoor shots with approximately 14 megapixels. You can also capture full HD movie clips.
In fact, Ricoh said the camera "performs brilliantly in challenging outdoor conditions," as it is waterproof to a depth of 10 metres, shock-resistant against a fall from a height of two metres, and cold-resistant to temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius.
Other features include a high-speed continuous shooting mode at about 10 images per second, heavy-duty yet lightweight design, 1.5-inch colour LCD monitor, wireless LAN connection to a smartphone or tablet, large controll buttons, and optional camera-mount accessories.
There's also a dedicated app for mobile devices, which lets you take pictures from a distance and check recordings in real-time, among other things, as well as a Face Detection AF & AE function and compatability with micro SD and micro SDHC memory cards.
The WG-M1 is available in black or orange. It costs £199.99. No word yet on release date. Check out the gallery below for more press shots.
