Lenovo's first Intel-powered Android tablet is the Tab S8

Lenovo has launched the Lenovo Tab S8, its first Intel-based Android tablet.

Launched at IFA 2014, the new tablet takes the small form factor, with an 8-inch display. The display has a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, fairly average for this size of device, but won't have the sharpness of some of its rivals.

The Lenovo Tab S8, however, has been designed with affordability in mind, with a price of $199 (£120).

Sitting at the heart of the new tablet is an Intel Atom Z3745 processor with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage.

There's a pair of cameras in place with 8-megapixels on the rear and 1.6-megapixels on the front and the Tab S8 has enhanced sound thanks to Dolby dual front speakers.

There will be LTE and Wi-Fi only versions of the tablet that measures 209.8 x 123.8 x 7.9mm and weighs 299g.

It will launch running Android 4.4 KitKat and the internal 4290mAh battery is said to give you 7 hours of use.

The Lenovo Tab S8 will be available from September 2014 for $199.
