An epic voyage in aid of Sport Relief

27 February 2008 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

James Cracknell is a name that personifies achievement. Olympic champion twice, World Champion six times and even as a junior he was champion of the world. He's also rowed the Atlantic Ocean.

If all that makes you feel a bit tired, then you should see what he's up to next.

First he'll row the Channel.
Then he'll cycle (yes cycle) to Gibraltar.
From there he will don his Speedos and swim to Africa (accompanied by Little Britain's David Walliams).

The proceeds go to this year's Sport Relief and coming from somebody who breaks a sweat running a bath let alone a mile, this is how I intend to support the event.

Once the challenge begins (in the next couple of days, weather permitting), this site will track James's progress on this awe-inspiring journey.

You can sponsor him through the site and we hope you all will.

The best of luck James!
