You will soon be able to customise the backgrounds on your PS4 and/or PS Vita consoles as Sony is bringing personalisation themes to the platforms.
Announced during the company's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, the new feature will come as part of a software update in the near future.
On the PS Vita, the themes will essentially allow you to changes the background wallpaper and icons. It is unclear whether you will be able to use your own images and photos as the examples shown during the event seemed to be promoted and downloadable content.
The same goes for the PS4, although the backgrounds in this case have the ability to be animated. Themes shown during the demo included famous PlayStation Japan characters Toro and Kuro, although it is likely that other game characters will feature heavily.
Similarly, there is no idea at present whether you will be able to use your own art or photos as well.
No exact date has been mentioned for when the option will appear although PlayStation Japan's Twitter feed suggests that the PS Vita update will happen in October. It hasn't revealed any details about the PS4 version. We'll update when we know more about the new firmware.
