The new Nexus X tablet, made by HTC, has leaked showing its 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 innards.

The tablets appeared on a CPU-Z report running the Tegra K1 Denver at 2.5GHz. The chip was previously rumoured to appear on HTC's Nexus tablet. This processor is a 64-bit SoC with a 192-core Kepler GPU meaning crazy gaming graphical performance can be expected. But it's also 1.5 times more efficient than other mobile GPUs, says Nvidia, meaning it won't affect battery performance.

The screen is rumoured to be an 8.9-inch display that sports the same resolution as the Nexus 10 meaning 2560 x 1600 but on that smaller screen. That equates to an impressive 340ppi which should be plenty for high quality gaming.

It would appear this tablet will be all about gaming if that chip is anything to go by. The chip has been shown running the Unreal Engine 4, DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.4. That means the chip is more powerful than anything Android can support right now. Even the next Android L is supposed to only support up to OpenGL 3.1, meaning it might be a while before the tablet can fully utilise its 64-bit power.

When the HTC Nexus X is released isn't clear but with the IFA trade show next week and plenty of announcements due for September we'd expect it soon. Although perhaps Google will wait for the new Nexus phone and Android L build before unveiling the Nexus X.
