Sony Ericsson launch J210, Z520, K680 and S600 models

Four new phones from Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has launched four new phones today as it fills in the gaps following the launch of its more high profile models back in March.

The new models; the J210, Z520, K680 and S600 will offer a range of features between them including 1.3 megapixel camera phones and 3G connectivity. Disappointingly, however, none of the models announced push new boundaries within the mobile phone world.

Sony Ericsson is hoping its new J210, which will have a sub £100 retail price without contract, will appeal to the entry-level market looking for a basic handset.

The Z520 is a small clamshell that's main feature is “light tones”, an internal light that you can set certain light patterns to appear when certain people call. The phone will also come with Bluetooth , a 65k colour screen 16Mb of onboard memory and 40 polyphonic ringtones.

The K680 joins the K600, V600 and V800 models in offering 3G connectivity. The camera will feature a 262k colour screen and a 1.3 megapixel digital camera.

The flagship of the day is the S600 a multimedia focused model that follows in the same vein as the S700 and S700i. The new model will come with the same swivel top design, a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, HTML browser and a strong focus on 3D gaming with a horizontal gaming mode and a and b buttons. To further push the gaming aspect of the device the S600 will also come with three games bundled on the drive including eighties classic Gauntlet.

All the phones will be available some time in Q3 this year. Sony Ericsson also launched the GC99 PC Card which combines 3G and WiFi in the same unit and two unit handsfree kits - the Bluetooth HBH-610 headset and the Bluetooth HCB-700 car handset.
