Toshiba has announced more televisions to its LCD range at its spring event in the UK. The new models will fit into the CV, XV and ZF ranges.

The CV series, which will be available from March onwards includes 32-, 37- and 42-inch models, all of which offer 1366 x 768 HD picture resolution.

All models also come with Toshiba’s newly evolved Active Vision LCD Picture Processing, Audio Description facilities, a dedicated Game Mode, three HDMI inputs and boast a gloss black design.

The CV series includes Toshiba’s ever evolving Active Vision LCD Picture Processing, which has, according to the company, been enhanced and tweaked to improve picture performance in four key areas – colour, movement, detail and contrast.

The TVs will sport a 1366 x 768 screen resolution and a Dynamic Contrast Ratio which ranges from 15,000:1 to 30,000:1.

Specifically geared towards gamers the new televisions will also feature a Game Mode designed to aid gamers by preventing potential controller response lag.

According to Toshiba the Game Mode provides a dedicated channel between console and screen, improving response times, which is particularly useful when playing fast-moving games. It also automatically displays the content with 1:1 pixel mapping, using Exact Scan.

The REGZA XV series will offer a 32-, 37- and 42-screen inches – all of which boast a full 1080p HD resolution, making the 32-inch model the smallest REGZA model to display 1080p Full HD to date.

The range will also feature the Active Vision LCD Picture Processing, 3x HDMI inputs, the new Game Mode and Audio Description technology.

The ZF range will launch in April and feature a bezel just 23mm wide. On the tech side it will include Active Vision M100HD 100Hz Picture Processing, 24fps compatibility (with 5:5 pull down) and 3 x HDMI (v1.3) connections.

Available in three screen sizes - 40-, 46- and 52-inch the screens will offer full 1080p and an extensive range of connectivity including three HDMI inputs, digital audio output, Component Video, S-Video, PC input and SCART. Each of the three HDMI inputs is compatible with Toshiba’s REGZA Link (CEC) technology.

Further image enhancement is taken care of by Dynamic Contrast Ratios of up to 30,000:1, which is a step-up from the current Z and XF series model.

Prices for all new sets are still to be confirmed.
