Ouya, the Android-powered gaming console, has announced a new subscription gaming service that will give access to 800 games for the price of one.

The Ouya All-Access Pass gives gamers a full year of access to its 800 game catalogue for $60 which is about £35. That's access to a catalogue worth over $2000, or £1170.

The offer is a limited time deal for current users and new Ouya customers as it is a trial right now. According to Polygon some games developers were not alerted to this payment model and that's not made Ouya any friends.

Ouya says: "It's just one of many things we're exploring to give players the best value, and developers the best visibility. Results of this test will dictate if/how we proceed with an official subscription program."

Ouya also clarifies that the offer only applies to purchases under $30 and does not cover "in-game purchases that enhance gameplay". As for developer complaints Ouya will still be paying them 70 per cent of the game's full costs, as before.
