With so many activity trackers and smartwatches available, it is hard to choose just one. But that decision is now a little streamlined, thanks to a new partnership that brings the Misfit Shine activity tracker software to the Pebble smartwatch.

Pebble offers the Pebble watch and Pebble Steel. They are waterproof devices that run apps and work with Android and iOS, but they aren't often associated with the fitness wearable market. On the other hand, Misift offers the Misfit Shine. It is a small metal-clad circular pebble the size of an American quarter. The Misfit Shine, which is waterproof, slots into a band, clip, or necklace, and counts steps and tracks activity. And now it has a watchapp for Pebble.

"Today we’re delighted to announce that Pebble and Misfit have joined forces to bring state-of-the-art activity tracking to Pebble smartwatches on wrists worldwide. Misfit, makers of Shine - a beautiful fitness and sleep monitor - have applied their expertise with user experience and algorithms to the Pebble ecosystem," announced Pebble through a blog post on Tuesday.

The Misfit watchapp is available now. You can download it from the Pebble appstore. Once downloaded, you can use the the app to count steps and track activity through your Pebble. The app does not require a smartphone or even the Misfit Shine. But that's not all: Misfit's iOS app will soon update with support for Pebble, allowing you to track additional metrics like calories burned and distance traveled.

Misfit's watchapp features a simple interface with black and white colours. You'll see a circular daily goal progress bar at the forefront, for instance, alongside the time and stats like steps taken. Check out the gallery below for more press shots.
