IE gets tabbed browsing

Microsoft sees the light of tabs

9 June 2005 15:38 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Microsoft has added tabbed browsing to its internet explorer browser via its Download toolbar add on.

The new feature gives the browser the same functionality as Firefox and Apple's Safari and will allow users to browse multiple pages within the same window.

Tabbed browsing wasn't expected from Microsoft in its browser until version seven.

MSN Search Toolbar includes Windows Desktop Search, so you can find anything on your PC - documents, e-mail messages, the ability to block pop-up windows, and a system that will automatically fill out web forms for you.
