By 12 June, when Brazil takes on Croatia in the first match of the 2014 World Cup, Microsoft will launch a dedicated zone on Xbox One that will provide access to stacks of original and related content.
Destination Brazil will provide a one-stop shop for the videos and games that centre on this year's football festivities.
Combining elements of terrestrial TV broadcasts through the TV functionality of the Xbox One and the new OneGuide with original content such as Every Street United, the Destination Brazil zone promises to always have something to watch or do. It will also be updated daily.
In addition to Microsoft Studios own programming, the company has partnered with online content provider Copa90 to offer its up-to-the-minute shows on Xbox One which will be filmed in Brazil during the competition. Other Copa90 content will also be available through the platform.
The hub is presented in the Xbox One's tile UI aesthetic and it will offer easy access to live matches shown on TV and games such as FIFA 14 and Kinect Sport Rivals, which will be adding themed DLC soon.
It also provides quick access to Brazil Now, Microsoft's dedicated Xbox One World Cup companion app. The app, which can snap to the side of the screen so information can be viewed while a match, game or other TV show plays, offers a bundle of data, news, statistics, Twitter feed and imagery from the tournament.
It can also be set up to send notifications to the screen when significant events occur, such as goals or large incidents. When a notification appears, the user then gets the chance to enter that match's live feed automatically.
Both Destination Brazil and Brazil Now are voice controlled and they are free to all Xbox Live users, not just those with Gold membership.
They will become available as part of the forthcoming June update, which will also add OneGuide functionality for all UK Xbox One users, as well as a number of other features.
