Miele has announced Knock2Open dishwashers that will make your kitchen smarter, allowing you to open the door by simply knocking twice on the top third of the dishwasher front.
The feature is available on Miele Generation 6000 dishwashers so you can have a handle-free design for a clean minimalist finish to your kitchen.
The integrated dishwashers will ignore other noises in the near vicinity, says Miele, so it won't open when you start clattering around in the sink, for example.
The Miele Generation 6000 dishwashers are packed with the latest washing technology, with the option to switch to an Extra Quiet mode (38dB), so it doesn't disturb you when you're sitting down for dessert.
The automatic programme uses only 6.5-litres of fresh water for an automatic wash and it is A+++ rated for energy efficiency.
In recent times we've seen knock to unlock becoming a common feature on smartphones, with the likes of the LG G2 and the HTC One (M8) allowing you to double tap the display rather than having to press a button to access it.
The Miele Generation 6000 dishwashers are available from £1700.
