UPDATE: The ZX Flux Photo Print app has now launched in the US where a pair of customised kicks costs $110.

Adidas has launched a new app called Photo Print app. What's so special about this app? It lets you custom design the ZX Flux trainer with your very own Instagram photos.

With this new iPhone and Android app, launched last August, you can put selfies or even that really delicious dinner you had last week, whichever you prefer, on your trainers. The point is: you can add your favourite and best photos to the ZX Flux silhouette. It lets you create a one-of-a-kind trainer that no one else in the world will own. The "possibilities are limitless," as Adidas claimed.

The shoe maker posted a 15-second video on Instagram to unveil the Photo Print app. The video didn't actually reveal the app or even its user interface, but it does show a trippy montage of various colourful ZX Flux trainers. And they all looked pretty cool. Check out the Instagram video above, or browse through the gallery below for some promo images of the ZX Flux decked out in Instagrams.

The Adidas ZX Flux is a part of the miAdidas brand, a customisable platform that lets you design and purchase your own colourways. Sam Handy, design director at Adidas, and Torben Shumacher, business unit director at Adidas, talked all about the ZX Flux in the video below. They discussed, for instance, how they built upon the original ZX 8000 silhouette from 1989 to create this latest edition with a TPU heel cage for support.
