"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." Okay, so that's a misquote of an original comment said by Mark Twain, but it could so easily apply to BlackBerry as it is about to come back from the brink with its first handset since its troubles.
The BlackBerry Z3 Jakarta Edition is for Indonesia only, but it represents a new start for the devices division of the manufacturer. And BlackBerry's vice-president of global product management Francois Mahieu told Pocket-lint during Mobile World Congress in February that it might even be rolled out to other territories in time.
The Indonesian version of the phone is released on 15 May and BlackBerry has posted its own unboxing video to show off its angular body and abilities.
It comes with a 5-inch 960 x 540 screen, has 8GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera on the rear. It sports BlackBerry 10, naturally, and isn't designed to be a flagship device, rather get the operating system out there in a solid device that won't break the bank.
It's the Q20 that we're perhaps more eagerly anticipating, however.
