LG has announced a trio of Android tablets at different sizes in its G Pad line-up of devices. Joining the existing LG G Pad 8.3 are the G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1.

Naturally, the number designations refer to the screen sizes and LG claims that this will make the range more attractive to potential buyers. "Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the company's Mobile Communications division.

"Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritise portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible."

The tablets will include the manufacturer's proprietary user experience features, such as QPair 2.0 to connect each device to an Android phone via Bluetooth in order to receive notifications of calls and messages and respond directly from the G Pad.

Knock Code, LG's security system, will also be present.

Full specifications, release dates and pricing will be announced locally in the "weeks ahead". Considering the G Pad 8.3's mid-range price point however, we expect the rest in the range to be suitably competitive.
