Leaked photos of Samsung Galaxy Tab S show Galaxy S5-like 10.5-inch tablet
Samsung’s 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S has appeared in two leaked photos, looking quite similar to the Galaxy TabPRO10.1 tablet that released earlier this year and even the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone.
SamMobile posted both images following a spec dump it revealed earlier this week. As the website previously reported, the Galaxy Tab S line is rumoured to feature four tablets in either 8.4-inch or 10.5-inch sizes. Each tablet will boast a WQXGA 2560×1600-pixel resolution AMOLED display instead of an LCD.
The tablets will also include an embedded fingerprint sensor in their home buttons, making them the first Samsung slates to offer fingerprint sensor-functionality. And as you can see the newly-leaked images, the home button on the Galaxy Tab S looks pretty normal, but it will reportedly boast a fingerprint sensor expected to work just like the one found on the Galaxy S5.
Other Galaxy Tab S features include an Octa-core Exynos 5 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 8 MP rear-facing camera sensor with 1080p Full HD video recording, 2.1 MP front- facing camera, IR blaster, MicroUSB 2.0 port, and support for Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, and GLONASS. Oh, and all four tablets will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.
The leaked images reveal a little more however. For instance, the two dots on the tablet's rear are supposedly proprietary connectors for Samsung’s book cover. That's entirely new functionality. Also, it looks like Samsung’s Magazine UX will be made available.
And finally, the Galaxy Tab S tablets will sport Wi-Fi or LTE connectivity. They'll also launch with a perforated-material design in two colour options: Shimmer White and Titanium Grey. However, there's no word yet on when Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Tab S line.
