Gibson has created a guitar cable that not only transmits sweet music to a speaker but records it on the way. Meaning any flurry of genius during practise won't be lost even if temporarily forgotten.
Gibson teamed up with audio recorder specialist Tascam to create the Memory Cable. The microSD packing cable unit is able to record up to 13 hours of playing at CD quality. That means 44.1kHz/16-bit sound WAV files that can be easily uploaded to recording software via the microSD card.
The Memory Cable offers 16-foot of length and comes with a 4GB microSD card. It uses a single AA battery which should last about 8 hours with an LR44 battery for the clock which should last a good year.
Since it's a cable it can handle most electric instruments including guitar, bass, drum machine, synthesiser and more.
The Gibson Memory Cable will be available in May for $100.
