Acer has confirmed its plans to enter the world of wearable tech. At its global press conference in New York the company presented the Liquid Leap device, due to be launched in limited markets in the latter half of this year.

Information is limited at this moment in time, only that the 17mm thick wearable will be a "companion device" and falls under the company's mobile Liquid brand name.

A dedicated conference in Taiwan ahead of this year's Computex will be the source of more detail about the device. First word is that the limited test market release will be in Asia rather than Europe or the US.
