Before we get going, we should caveat this one with “correct at time of going to press”. Or something.
Because we’re certainly not going to come back an update things every time a football manager changes jobs. Not after this week, anyway…
This brilliant visualisation at bootifulgame.com/managerial-merry-go-round shows how long each of the English Premier League’s managers have been in their jobs, relative to each other. Ryan Giggs, is at the centre, having been in the job for only a couple of days following the sacking of David Moyes at Manchester United. On the outer edge is Arsene Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal since some time in the 17th Century.
Each day that the manager has been in charge equates to one second of orbit. It’s all a bit of fun, but it’s actually quite fascinating to see the differences.
We just wish they’d used mugshots of the managers themselves. Would’ve been even more entertaining.
