Medion launches GoPal P4425
Fully featured satnav complete with fingerprint recognition
13 February 2008 15:21 GMT / By Stuart Miles
Medion has announced the availability of its new flagship satellite navigation device, the GoPal P4425.
Incorporating Medion's new GoPal 4.0 navigation software, the GoPal P4425 claims to be the first satnav to offer the security of owner identification, with an integrated fingerprint recognition sensor meaning that only authorised users are able to switch the unit on.
The device is slimline at 124 x 81 x 17mm and offers street-level maps for the UK and all of Europe.
The Navteq map data shows route information on a new display layout, offering a choice of arrow-based, 2D or 3D intelligent visual guidance with a further hybrid split screen option.
Featuring TMC dynamic rerouting, there's also real-time GPS-generated speed display that works in conjunction with the speed limit notification as well as advanced previews of major road signs and Medion's lane assistant.
Medion's latest GoPal 4.0 PE software offers "touchless" technology, making all menu options accessible by spoken commands.
The GoPal P4425 also incorporates an FM transmitter, enabling the precise text-to-speech rendered voice guidance or MP3 files from the integrated music player to be played back through a car's speakers.
Bluetooth connectivity also enables compatible mobile phones to be paired with the GoPal P4425.
Medion's GoPal P4425 is priced at £249.99 including VAT and is available to buy now exclusively from Medion's online store.
