In December, Nokia unveiled a green phone made from 60% recycled material.

The Nokia 3110 Evolve may soon arrive on the shelves but in the meantime, Nokia has unveiled another eco-concept model, the Remade.

The company's chief exec, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, pulled the silver clamshell-shaped handset from his pocket during his keynote speech at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona this morning, according to The Guardian.

There are no tech specs as yet as the phone is just a concept but Kallasvuo said that the phone's corrugated metal casing and flat, touch-sensitive keypad are made from recycled cans.

He added the phone also contained electrical components made from recycled materials.

"It really shows what can be done with materials", he told the crowd. "It is only a concept now - I cannot make a phone call - but it gives you an insight into how we think we can break new ground."

This is the first time that the concept phone - branded "Remade" - has been seen in public.
